In parallel to GSOP V, RedKings also introduces GSOP Mini. The structure and rules follow the same format as GSOP V but with the buy-ins and guarantees set to approximately 10% of the numbers in GSOP V. The guaranteed prize pool is $250,000 in total with buy-ins starting as low as $5.
Between 19 September and 3 October 2010 there will be a total of 15 events with different buy-ins, all aimed at the lower buy-in player segment.
All these 15 events hand out a Grand Slam Mini ticket to the winner and also award points towards a leaderboard where the winner of the leaderboard gets a Gram Slam Mini ticket. The remaining players in the top 100 will get a chance to compete for three more tickets to the Grand Slam Mini Final. The Grand Slam Mini, with a buy-in of $500 and a guaranteed prize pool of $30,000, is the final event in the GSOP Mini.

The leaderboard scores points based on a formula where players that enter in many events will be awarded more than just the occasional win of a big event. It is more rewarding to compete in all events in order to finish high in the final leaderboard. All players in the field will be awarded points towards the leaderboard.
The formula is:
Points = ((PrizePool0,2) / (PlaceFinished0,5))*10
Prize pool is in dollars ($).
All leaderboard standings will be displayed on www.GSOP.info the day after each GSOP event.
